Pope Obumneme Odonwodo AKA Jnr Pope was born on May 7, 1984, in Bamenda, Cameroon to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Luke Odonwodo. Jnr Pope hails from Enugu State and the eastern part of Nigeria but he was born and brought up in Cameroon, he is of the Igbo tribe. His dad is a Nigerian, while his mum is a Cameroonian. Jnr Pope completed his primary and secondary education in Bamenda, Cameroon where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) after which he relocated to Nigeria his root to further his education and he gained admission into the University of Nsukka, Enugu State where he studied Accountancy and bagged a degree.
Jnr Pope’s acting career started in 2006, by acting and going to auditions. Still, his career hit the limelight in 2007 when he acted in “Secret Adventure” a movie directed by Nollywood popular director Tchidi Ckikere. After his appearance in the movie, Jnr Pope has acted in over 100 movies. He has also worked with other Nollywood stars like Sylvester Madu, Ernest Asuzu, Jerry Amilo, Mr Ibu, Emma Ehumadu, and many more.
