Two persons died , 14 rescued as building collapse in Lekki (WATCH)
A tragic incident unfolded in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, as a building under construction on Oriwu Street collapsed, resulting in multiple casualties.
The collapse, which occurred around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, trapped several individuals under the rubble.
According to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene.
So far, 14 people have been rescued and transported to Lagos Island General Hospital for medical attention.
Two bodies have been recovered,” Hundeyin confirmed in an update. Security personnel remain at the location to maintain order as rescue efforts continue.
