Many lives lost during rice stampede in Anambra state (WATCH)
No fewer than 17 people have been killed and many others injured during after a rice-sharing event led to a stampede in at Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The incident occurred on Saturday when a large crowd gathered to receive free bags of rice to the residents.’
It was gathered that some women had gathered to collect their share of rice distributed by Obi Jackson Foundation, run by oil magnate Ernest Obiejesi.
